Bob Whittaker and Peter Romer-Lee accounted for the first two Salmon of April, an approx. 9lb fish from the Weir Pool at Beam and one of c.8lb at Brimblecombe respectively. Ron Burton and Charles Inniss both caught Sea Trout of around 4lb at Beam and Brightlea, Charles also had a seven pounder at Beam. Jonathan Sykes enjoyed an extraodinary day at Beam catching three Salmon to 14lbs in the Weir Pool at Sunken Tree. Fred Beaumont also had a day to remember at Little Warham where he Accounted for two Salmon, one of which at around 23lb was one of the biggest Torridge fish for some time. Roger Powell ended the month with a salmon of around 10lb from the Sunken Tree at Beam.
Brown Trout fishing was steady with several anglers enjoying days of five to ten fish up to 2lb.
